All applicants who have not attended schools full time at the secondary level or above for at least three years where English is the principal language of instruction must pass an English-language proficiency exam. Undergraduates may take either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the Pearson Test of English (PTE), whereas graduate students may take the TOEFL, PTE, or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Engineering majors of all class levels require a higher score than the allowable undergraduate minimum of 500 on the paper form of the TOEFL.
